Standardized Testing Changes During the Coronavirus

The Coronavirus has led to the cancellation of numerous standardized exams during the month of April. Students registered for these exams are now faced with choosing between rescheduling their exams or waiting to see when new dates will be posted. To help test takers stay informed, we have compiled some information regarding several exams:

The SAT administration scheduled for May 2, 2020 has been cancelled. Currently, the next SAT is scheduled for the first weekend in June. College Board is looking at innovative ways to administer the SAT in the event that schools are unable to reopen in the fall. For more updates, visit pages.collegeboard.org/sat-covid-19-updates.

The April 4 ACT administration has been rescheduled to June 13, 2020. Students registered for the April test date will receive an email on how to reschedule for free. For rising seniors concerned about testing, the ACT is working on finding solutions and will post more information as it becomes available. Fore more updates, visit www.act.org/content/act/en/covid19.html.

The April 2020 LSAT will not be administered due to COVID-19. In its place will be an online LSAT-flex test in the second half of May. This is for test takers originally scheduled for the April date. If test takers do not wish to take the LSAT-flex, they can fill out an online form. LSAC is currently working with law schools to expand flexibility on deadlines. For more updates, visit www.lsac.org/update-coronavirus-and-lsat.

All MCAT administrations through May 21 have been cancelled globally. AAMC plans to add more dates in the future, so check their website on April 17 for updates. For more updates, visit students-residents.aamc.org/applying-medical-school/article/coronavirus-mcat-faqs/.

At home testing is available worldwide for the GRE General test, with the exception of Mainland China and Iran. The test is identical in content, format, experience, and scoring. ETS is also waiving all rescheduling fees to accommodate test takers during this time. For more updates, visit www.ets.org/s/cv/gre/the-americas/.

We recommend to check these sites and MINT's Instagram page (@mintadmissions) for more updates as they become available. In the meantime, continue to study and stay safe!
